Minéraux' Dry Paint products have been tested and proven PFAS-free by SGS
Dec 4, 2024
Minéraux has developed innovative, sustainable wall paints that are free of titanium dioxide, biocides, VOCs and have a very low CO2-footprint. Its products provide Class I Wet Scrub Resistance and Class I hiding power with just 1 layer, saving time, money and the environment.
Today, Minéraux announces that its powdered wall paints have been tested by SGS and found to be free of PFAS as well.
PFAS (short for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are man-made chemicals used in a wide variety of products because they are resistant to water, grease, and heat. You’ll find them in things like non-stick pans, waterproof clothing, food packaging, and many paints.
The problem with PFAS is that they don’t break down easily in the environment or in our bodies. That’s why they’re often called “forever chemicals.” Over time, PFAS can build up in water, soil, animals, and people, potentially causing harm.
Scientists and health experts are concerned because exposure to PFAS has been linked to health problems like cancer, immune system issues, and hormone disruptions. Plus, they can contaminate drinking water and are very difficult to remove once they’re in the environment.
We want to eliminate PFAS to protect our health, the environment, and future generations from these long-lasting and harmful chemicals. By finding safer alternatives and phasing out PFAS containing product, we can reduce the risks they pose.
Minéraux' Dry Paint is one of those safer alternatives by eliminating PFAS, TiO2, VOCs, biocides and the unnecessary use of water, while reducing the CO2-footprint and waste stream for a cleaner planet.
